Privacy Policy

Soft Structure is made by Little Lights LLC (“Little Lights,” “we,” “us”), a company based in the United States. This Privacy Policy explains how we handle information when you use the Soft Structure app and the softstructure.app website (together, the “Services”). Little Lights LLC is the controller of the personal information described here.

The plans, routines, notes, and other content you create in Soft Structure are stored locally on your device. We do not run servers that store this content, and we cannot see it.

Device backups. If you choose to turn on iCloud Backup or iCloud sync on an Apple device, or Android backup on an Android device, Apple or Google may store a copy of your app data under your Apple Account or Google Account. This happens because of settings you control, and it is governed by Apple’s or Google’s terms and privacy policy, not ours. We do not have access to these backups.

Deleting your data. Deleting Soft Structure from your device deletes the content stored in it. If you use iCloud or Android backup, you can also remove the app’s backed-up data in your iCloud or Google Account settings.

Beyond what stays on your device, we collect only the following:

Information you send us

If you email us, we receive your email address and whatever you include in your message.

AI features

When you choose to use an AI feature, your request and the parts of your plan needed to carry it out are sent to our AI provider to generate a response. See AI features below.

Purchases

Purchases and subscriptions are processed by Apple or Google, depending on where you downloaded the app. We do not receive your payment card details. Apple or Google shares limited transaction information with us, such as the product purchased and subscription status, so we can provide what you bought.

Analytics and diagnostics

To keep the app working well, we may collect crash reports and anonymous or pseudonymous usage information, such as which screens are used and how the app performs. This never includes the content of your plans or notes. You can turn analytics off at any time in the app’s settings.

Advertising measurement

We may advertise Soft Structure on platforms such as Meta (Facebook and Instagram), Apple Search Ads, and Google (including YouTube). To understand which ads work, we may receive information such as whether an install or subscription came from one of our ads. On iPhone and iPad, where this involves your device’s advertising identifier or tracking across other companies’ apps and websites, we will ask your permission first through Apple’s App Tracking Transparency prompt. On Android, you can delete or reset your device’s advertising ID at any time in your device settings, and where the law requires consent, we will ask for it first. See Advertising below.

Website

softstructure.app does not use analytics or advertising cookies or trackers. Our hosting provider records basic technical information, such as IP address and browser type, for security and reliability, and may set strictly necessary security cookies, as explained in our Cookie Policy.

Soft Structure asks for permission before using certain features of your device. Each permission is optional, is used only for the purpose described, and can be changed at any time in your device’s Settings.

• Notifications, alerts, and alarms: to deliver the reminders and alerts you set up, including time-sensitive reminders (on Android, this includes the “Alarms & reminders” permission).
• Calendars and Reminders: only if you choose to connect them, so your events and reminders can appear in your plan. This information is read on your device and is not sent to us.
• Apple Watch: to show your plan and deliver reminders on your watch. Data moves between your iPhone and Apple Watch and is not sent to us.
• Tracking (App Tracking Transparency, iPhone and iPad): to measure advertising as described below. Soft Structure works fully whether or not you allow tracking.

Some features of Soft Structure are powered by Claude, an AI model made by Anthropic, PBC. AI features only run when you choose to use them. Before you use them for the first time, the app will explain what is shared and ask for your permission.

When you use an AI feature, your request and the parts of your plan needed to carry it out are sent securely through our server to Anthropic to generate a response. Our server passes this content through without storing it. We keep only basic technical records, such as the time of a request and an anonymous identifier, to enforce usage limits and prevent misuse.

Under Anthropic’s commercial terms, this content is not used to train Anthropic’s models, and Anthropic keeps it only for a limited period under its data retention policies, or longer only where required by law or to prevent misuse. We do not use your AI requests for advertising.

AI responses can be inaccurate. Please don’t rely on them for medical, mental health, legal, or financial decisions, and avoid entering sensitive personal information you don’t want to share.

We do not show ads inside Soft Structure, and we do not sell your personal information.

We may use advertising partners, including Meta, Apple, and Google, to measure and improve our own ads for Soft Structure. Where you allow it, we may share your device’s advertising identifier and limited app events, such as installing the app, starting a trial, or making a purchase, with these partners. We never share the content of your plans, your AI requests, or any information about your health or wellbeing with advertising partners.

If you do not allow tracking, we use only privacy-preserving measurement tools that do not identify you, such as Apple’s ad attribution frameworks. You can change your choice at any time: on iPhone and iPad in Settings › Privacy & Security › Tracking, and on Android by deleting or resetting your advertising ID in your device’s privacy or ads settings.

• To provide the Services and their features, including AI features you choose to use.
• To process purchases and subscriptions.
• To respond to your messages and provide support.
• To understand how the app performs and fix problems.
• To measure the effectiveness of our advertising, with your permission where required.
• To keep the Services secure and prevent misuse.
• To comply with legal obligations.

We share information only with:

• Service providers who process it on our behalf and under contract, including Apple and Google (payments and app distribution), Anthropic (AI features), the hosting provider for the server that connects the app to our AI features, our analytics and crash-reporting providers, and our website host.
• Advertising partners, limited to the information described in Advertising, and only with your permission where required.
• Authorities or others when required by law, or to protect the rights, safety, and security of our users, Little Lights, or others.
• A successor business, if Little Lights is involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets. This Policy will continue to apply to your information.

This section is our Consumer Health Data Privacy Policy under laws such as Washington’s My Health My Data Act and similar laws in Nevada, Connecticut, and other states.

What it covers. Information you enter in Soft Structure about your wellbeing, such as self-care, rest, or movement, may be considered “consumer health data.” This information is stored on your device and we do not collect it, except when you use an AI feature (which sends the parts of your plan needed to carry out your request) or send it to us in a support message.

How it is used and shared. We use it only to provide the feature you asked for (for example, to generate an AI response) or to answer your message. We share it only with Anthropic to provide AI features, and with no one else except as required by law. We never sell consumer health data, and we never share it with advertising partners.

Your rights. You can ask to confirm whether we have your consumer health data, access it, delete it, or withdraw your consent, and ask for a list of the third parties we have shared it with, by emailing hello@littlelightsgroup.com.

United States

Depending on the state you live in, including California, Colorado, Connecticut, Oregon, Texas, Utah, Virginia, and others, you may have the right to:

• Find out and get a copy: learn which personal information we have on you and receive it.
• Fix it: have mistakes corrected.
• Erase it: have your information deleted.
• Take it with you: receive it in a format you can move elsewhere.
• Opt out: say no to the “sale” of personal information, to “sharing” for cross-context behavioral advertising, and to targeted advertising.

We do not sell personal information for money. Some state laws may treat advertising measurement with partners as “sharing” or “targeted advertising.” You can opt out by declining or turning off tracking in your device settings, or by emailing us.

Europe and the United Kingdom

If you are in the European Economic Area, Switzerland, or the United Kingdom, you have the right to:

• See your data: request a copy of the personal information we have about you.
• Fix it: have mistakes corrected.
• Erase it: have your information deleted.
• Pause it: have us stop using your information while a concern is being resolved.
• Take it with you: receive your information in a format you can move to another service.
• Say no: object where we rely on legitimate interests.
• Change your mind: withdraw consent you have given, such as for AI features or tracking.
• Raise a concern: lodge a complaint with the data protection authority where you live.

How to make a request

Email hello@littlelightsgroup.com. We will respond within the time required by law. We may need to verify your identity before acting on a request, and you may use an authorized agent where the law allows. If we decline your request, you can appeal by replying to our decision with the subject line “Appeal”. We will not discriminate against you for exercising your rights.

• Contract: to provide the app, its features, and your purchases.
• Consent: for AI features, advertising tracking, and any processing of health-related information. You can withdraw consent at any time.
• Legitimate interests: for anonymous analytics, crash reporting, security, and responding to your messages, balanced against your rights.
• Legal obligation: where we must keep or disclose information by law.

Our website does not track visitors across other sites, so it responds the same way whether or not your browser sends a Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control signal. In the app, tracking is controlled by your device’s tracking and advertising ID settings.

Content in the app stays on your device until you delete it. Support emails are kept for as long as needed to help you and for our records. Analytics and advertising measurement data are kept only as long as needed for those purposes, and then deleted or anonymized. AI requests are handled as described in AI features.

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect personal information, including encryption in transit. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but keeping your content on your device limits what can be exposed.

Little Lights is based in the United States, and our service providers may process information in the United States and other countries. Where we transfer personal information from the EEA, Switzerland, or the UK, we rely on appropriate safeguards, such as the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses.

Soft Structure is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. In the EEA and UK, people under 16 should use AI features and allow tracking only with a parent’s consent where local law requires it. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us at hello@littlelightsgroup.com and we will delete it.

Soft Structure is a planning and wellbeing tool. It is not a medical device and does not diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any disease or condition, or provide medical advice. Always seek the advice of a qualified health professional with any questions about your health.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the new version on this page and update the date at the top. If we make significant changes, we will let you know in the app or by other appropriate means before they take effect.
